I was in a largely TC party doing VoN4 last night and, as usual, failed to make the jumps required at the end to get across the lava and pipes to the escape hatch before time ran out. I died there and was waiting for the timer to time out so I could at least get the XP reward, but the quest was either bugged or somehow we missed killing one of the Control Room guardians.
As a result the quest stayed active, leaving my ghost down on the floor of the last room. That gave me about an hour to run my ghost around the lava room and I believe I found a route that can let jump-challenged characters like Nonrev (low STR) get to the end. Here's my suggested plan. Start with the following rough diagram of the room; directions are relevant to the diagram, not the actual room.

| A | you come in from the South. Run to the
| | Northwest part the floor (see "A"). There
| | is a pile of broken flooring there. Get on that
| x | pile, take a potion of jump and look North.
=====^===== You will see a pipe running East/West along the North wall. It runs about 2/3 of the way and is depicted as spewing lava to the floor. Jump North to get onto that pipe. You will see a second pipe above it on the North wall. Jump again to get onto the higher pipe. Nonrev occasionally had trouble there. If so, move a little East and jump to the North again. Keep trying until you get up onto the upper North pipe.
Now you move East along the upper pipe, but be careful. It has
a gap near the East end. Your objective is to get to the East side on that pipe and jump up to a pipe running North/South along the East wall. You'll need to run East, jump the gap, and hopefully that jump will get you to hang onto the East-side pipe so you can climb up on it. I found that Nonrev couldn't always make that jump if he got too close to the East wall, so in that case I recommend running back West along the pipe you are on (be sure to hop the gap in the pipe) to the far West end and run back East so that when you jump the gap you have some speed towards the East. That seemed to work every time.
Now you run South along the East-side pipe to the Southeast corner. Rotate there to the West (right) and you'll see a short pipe going West. Move slowly along it and you will see a diagonal pipe reaching out from the Western side of the alcove you are facing, but don't go too far West on the short pipe or you'll fall.
Jump forward onto that diagonal pipe (seems relatively easy) and move along a short way it to the West (and a little South) toward the wall that the pipe is coming out of. Somewhere on that pipe stop, turn to left to (the South), and you'll see an East/West pipe just in front of you along the Southern wall. Jump South up onto that pipe and then jump again and you'll be able to reach an East/West platform on the upper South side. (Sometimes Nonrev made the platform in one jump; sometimes he made the pipe first and then the platform on the second jump and climb).
Turn right (the West) on the platform and run to the Southwest corner. Turn North (right) and you'll see a set of stairs, but be careful -- the stairs are broken. The break is roughly above point A in the map. Walk toward the gap and look down. You'll see a diagonal pipe coming South and a little West from the North wall. Run to the Eastern side of the gap in the stairs and do your best when you fall through the gap to land on that diagonal pipe. Nonrev almost always made it. Then, walk along that pipe to the North wall. From there you will see yet another pipe above you running East/West along the North wall. Jump North up onto it. Turn right (East) and you will see another pipe running North to South just above the pipe you are on, but that pipe is a little West of the East wall. Go to that pipe and jump/climb up onto it. (If you jump too far you'll land in the gap between the East/West pipe and the East wall. Just turn around and jump/climb back to the West to get onto the North/South pipe.) Once on the second pipe turn North and you'll see the floor of the room you have been trying to get to. Jump/climb North and you should be into the hallway leading to the escape door. Hopefully the fighters and good jumpers will have cleared that hallway of bad guys so you can just run for the doorway.
I've only made it that far once when not a ghost, but the escape door was already closed and locked, so at this point I'm unsure about details, but I believe you run forward, turn right, and the door is ahead of you. Look for the markers for your better-jumping party members and try to get through that door.
