The Xorian Cipher

Hello all. Last week I had the pleasure of meeting and grouping with Griffth for most of Saturday. He suggested doing The Xorian Cipher and we did. I like new adventures and this one (while tough) payed out in spades. It has elements of novelty and it is somewhat puzzle oriented. A must try for those who have never done it!

The quest is level 8 and one of the side quests requires runes of intelligence to be activated (so a wizzy is a must).

I'd like to volunteer to guide those who are interested. I am flexible on when to do it, so I suggest those interested vote on which days would work the best and we'll decide from there.

I am game for this quest as well. I heard it was hard, heard though. So no clue what to expect. Count me in, if you have a spot.

Which day and time?

A group of us tried this on Saturday nite and got slaughtered just inside the front door. I would like very much to try this with someone who's been through it and guide.

OTOH, it might do us a world of good to try and figure out a totally unknown quest without any help or hints. Might take a few tries, but what the heck , death is only temporary. I don't play the game to get loot and XP, I play because I like to play, and because I like who I am playing alongside of. Who cares if I lose some ground on 10th level, I'll get there eventually.

It's not like RL or PnP where you can REALLY die.

I also like trying new quests, though I'd like to re-run Xorian Cipher in order to better understand the sequencing and strategy needed to finish it. I did that this week, but there were many things about what we did that confused me. If anyone happens th run into Griffth in the game ask him to sign up on this website and provide an explanation of the quest, including the part where he split our part in to two parts, one of which involved doing one of those floor puzzles while dodging the pink jelly blobs. I'd like to understand that strategy better...

Other things that seem intresting include another try at Dead Girl and Taming the Flames, and when do we think TC is ready to tackle the Dragon?

Also, I keep looking for low-level TC'er in the Harbor to help my rogue alt, Adnelg, move along. Look for him in there from time to time.

is this friday night good for you guys? this means sat morning for me though...

i'll try to get a mic (for all the good that will do... asian acsent and all) soo it'll be easier to guide... instead of having to react to typed messages.

ok we'll need high int , cha and wis toons.. wands of healing as there's only 1 shrine in there(which means ppl willing to spend money to buy them) , and a rogue for the traps.

Me Me, Tried last wekkend and was no go one day, group got wiped once next day and decided to try for easier quest. I really want ot do this one.

Looks like we're getting enough interest for a full group + extras. I'm glad to see that.

Friday night works for me as I have plans on Saturday. I can play rogue or cleric as the group needs.

I think it would help if we started signing up for the quest. If interested in doing XC tonight please post your name class and level.

As the quest is level 8 or 9 I feel a minimum level of 7 would be appropriate.

Also, include what time you would be available. Approx 9PM CST is good for me.

Count me in UNLESS there is a Tempest Spine attempt (as seems possible, ableit unlikely). I'll be online from 6:30 Pacific or so. I am a 9th level ftr.
